The Straits Times reported this morning that a significantly-sized portion of the ceiling at the ground level of heartland mall JEM had collapsed on the evening of Sept. 18, injuring three people.
According to a Singapore Civil Defence spokesperson, the three victims have been sent to the National University Hospital.
The Jurong shopping mall made waves earlier this year when it was refused a fire permit and had to delay its opening, after which a fire broke out at its Fairprice Xtra outlet.
