An application for a permit to hold a protest march from Hong Lim Park to the Istana has been rejected.
Singaporean filmmaker and blogger Martyn See had sent the Singapore Police Force his permit application to organise the March for Minimum Wage on Oct. 21, after which there came a reply from A. Inspector Patrick Loh, who requested that See established some details, such as the size of the proposed protest, as well as the collaterals involved.
After sending back his answers to the questions, See received a formal reply on Oct. 31, stating the permit application to organise the procession had been rejected “due to the risk to public order”.
