Singapore International Film Festival to make bumper comeback

After a two-year hiatus from Singapore’s arts and entertainment scene, the Singapore International Film Festival is bracing itself for a grand comeback to mark its 25th edition at the end of 2014.

Minister for Communications and Information Yaacob Ibrahim revealed in a press conference on Dec. 4 that the extensive week-long event will be held in conjunction with the Asian Television Awards, the Asia Television Forum and ScreenSingapore.

The four-in-one event aims to centre and showcase local talents as well as those from around Southeast Asia.

Apart from the public screenings of Asia’s first-rate films, aspiring filmmakers can expect to partake in movie-making conferences with notable people in the business while businesses can look forward to enhancing their dealings via networking sessions.

With more than 900 companies taking part in this year’s Asia TV Forum and a revenue of more than SGD250 million in 2011, the 25th Singapore International Film Festival is set to raise the bar.
