Fish & Co. issues apology for insensitive ad

Fish & Co. Singapore issued an apology via its Facebook page on Dec. 9 after its advertisement with reference to the Little India riot drew flak on and offline.

The advertisement, which has since been taken down, showed the tagline: “Stay away from riot and eat Bombay fish and chips”.

In the statement, the seafood restaurant stated that they did not intend to nor deliberately attempt to trivialise the situation, adding that they take full responsibility for their actions.

And it does seem sincere, as seen from its many attempts to try and answer the comments left by netizens after it published the statement.
