Full of Ssh: Anton Casey hires PR agency, lawyer to clean up his mess

Well, well, well.

A lot has happened since netizens began a full-on CSI attack against Brit wealth manager Anton Casey, who called Singaporeans who take public transport “poor” and has reportedly been making similar jabs at non-Porsche-driving folks since the beginning of time.

We reported yesterday that Casey had disseminated a non-committal letter of apology (read it below) to community-run websites like The Real Singapore, but it’s come to our attention that the letter has also gone to various other media including The Straits Times, which ran it this morning.

And according to Marketing Magazine, he’d done so with the help of Fulford Public Relations, which has taken on the job of strategising his escape out of the messy, messy situation. Fulford PR’s managing director Marina Matthews says she’s unable to comment on how they’re planning to do this as police investigations are still undergoing. Casey also mentioned in his apology letter (read it in full below) that he’s working with the police to deal with the kidnapping and death threats he’s received since the backlash began.

Additionally, online news site TR Emeritus reported yesterday that they received a letter from Anton Casey’s lawyer from the William Poh & Louis Lim Law Firm. Read it here:

“BRITION BELITTLES PEOPLE TAKING PUBLIC TRANSPORT”

Please help as our client is trying to quell the matter which has been blown out of all proportions.

There has also been threats to harm my client, his wife and young son, which is now the subject matter of a police report.

WILLIAM POH & LOUIS LIM

The letter drew the attention of troll website SMRT Ltd (Feedback) — the people behind the release of Casey’s general information like his and his employer’s corporate email addresses following the calling out of the wealthy expat’s actions — who responded on their Facebook page, “Eh William & Louis. You bodoh or what? Suing for copyright infringement? The pictures are posted onto a public domain. Where did you get your law degree? Bapak kau peh University?” (“Eh William & Louis. You stupid or what? Suing for copyright infringement? The pictures are posted onto a public domain. Where did you get your law degree? Your Father’s University?”)

Also, if you’re interested, someone wrote in to HSBC Singapore
