Billionaire.com has named the Clermont Residence in Singapore as the eighth most lavish high-rise apartment building in the world.
A report by Tara Loader Wilkinson in the luxury lifestyle magazine reveals that billionaires around the world desire a large amount of living space within top cities, but that “expansive square footage near to the ground is rare in prestigious neighbourhoods”.
The solution? Go up.
Topping Wilkinson’s list of extravagant lavish high-rise apartment blocks is London’s One Hyde Park, which costs about USD9.906 per square foot. Its penthouse costs USD226.9 million.
Singapore, a city that for its size has an incredible concentration of millionaires and billionaires, comes in eighth place with the aforementioned Clermont Residence, which costs USD2,360 per square foot.
Its penthouse apartment, which has its own private lift, will set one back USD47 million.
The building on Peck Seah Street isn’t actually resident-ready, but when it is in 2016, it will house 180 partments, including the 14,500 sq. ft. penthouse.
It was designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, the architects behind the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world located in Dubai.
