The natural beauty of Hangzhou, which has inspired countless works of art and poetry over the centuries, will soon be within easier reach of Singapore as SilkAir begins flying to the city four times a week.
It will be SilkAir’s eighth destination in China, adding on to Changsha, Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Shenzhen, Wuhan and Xiamen.
Set on the picturesque West Lake, Hangzhou has dozens of historic pagodas, temples, bridges and other structures, and its proximity to Shanghai also makes it an alternative gateway to the financial centre.
The service will depart Singapore on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 10am, turning around for departure from Hangzhou at 4:20pm. The duration of the flight is around five hours.
