Singapore-based app Muslim Pro gets an average of almost three million active users monthly

Singapore-based religious app Muslim Pro gets an average of almost three million active users monthly.

Officially announced by its developer Bitsmedia, the app has also surpassed a whopping 10 million downloads across 216 countries since its inception in August 2010.

Apart from providing accurate prayer times based on a user’s location, Muslim Pro also features an Azan (Muslim call to prayer) clock, helps locate the Qibla direction where Muslims turn to face in prayer, as well as assists users in finding nearby halal restaurants or mosques (watch video below).

The highest number of downloads, in descending order, are found in Muslim countries like Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates, as well as countries with large Muslim minorities like France, the United States and the United Kingdom.

As the first Islamic app to be translated in 15 languages, Muslim Pro is available on Android, Blackberry and iOS with a Windows Phone 8 version in the works.

Commenting on the app’s growth potential in emerging markets, Bitsmedia CEO, Erwan Mace, said, ““Once smart phones have become a necessity in emerging markets like they are now for other parts of the world, we can expect Muslim Pro’s user base to increase by up to 3 times”.
