Local indie bookstore launches sale to raise money for new shop space

Local favourite BooksActually wants to buy — not rent — a new shop space.

To raise money for what is understood as a lofty dream considering the lavish property prices in Singapore, the independent bookstore is holding a 10-day 25 percent-storewide sale starting today, April 21.

Prices for both books and vintage trinkets will be slashed.

Accompanying the Facebook announcement on April 20 is a heartfelt message to BooksActually customers, which ends with, “the bookstore is not what it is today without every single one of you who has loved us, hated us, and lightly nudged (or forcibly pushed) us to move forward — to be better, climb higher and dream bigger”.
