Video: Old Singapore Airlines TVC shows Collyer Quay, Orchard Road, Paya Lebar Airport in late ’70s

We’ve seen a lot of throwback videos, but this one really takes our breath away.

For one, it’s really old. This dates back to at least the late 1970s, when advertising campaigns were mainly for print and most colour footage was confined to the cinemas, which is probably where it was shown.

The TVC promotes Singapore Airlines’ (SIA) classic tag “a great way to fly”, and takes viewers through iconic locations like Boat Quay, Collyer Quay, the old Paya Lebar Airport and Orchard Road. But the sights in this video are nothing like what you see today. NOTHING.

And what about the bob, large yellow-top taxi cab, free-flowing trishaws and the fact that you can just wave to a chick on the street you may or may not know and get a wave back?

Mind-blown, guys.
