World’s oldest supermodel to walk for Max Tan at Digital Fashion Week

The legendary Carmen Dell’Orefice will be walking for local designer Max Tan at this year’s Digital Fashion Week in Singapore.

At 83, Dell’Orefice, who began her career with a US Vogue cover when she was 16, is the world’s oldest supermodel.

She’s had a prolific career, having modelled for international names like Galliano and Gaultier, and is still active — her last appearance was at the 2013 New York Fashion Week.

Three years ago, Dell’Orefice was awarded an honourary doctorate from the University of the Arts London.

In a statement by the organiser of Digital Fashion Week, which happens at the National Design Centre from Oct. 31 — Nov. 3, the model expressed her thrill at being a part of the event and collaborating with Singaporean designer Max Tan.

“In doing so, we have become ambassadors for our countries, cultures and decades.”
