Local actress Felicia Chin opens Mama Shop at Pearl’s Hill Terrace

Felicia Chin, one of the greatest darlings on local TV today, has opened the Mama Shop, a retro-themed cafe at the iconic Pearl’s Hill Terrace.

Sporting 60s floor tiles and rows of ‘old school’ biscuits in golden tins, the Mama Shop cafe is Chin’s and fellow actress Sora Ma’s ‘baby’ together. They have two other partners, who don’t work in showbiz.

In an interview with The Straits Times, Chin reveals that they spent a low five-figure sum on the startup.

Not surprisingly, the launch of the Mama Shop on Oct. 8 was a major success, with a whopping 200 people flocking to the 10-seater venue, which offers burgers and Malaysia-style drinks that don’t burn a hole in the pocket.
