Japanese food lovers — new online grocer Zairyo delivers everything your heart desires

You can soon get your favourite uni (sea urchin) or even the exquisite ankimo (monkfish liver), delivered right to your doorstep.

Zairyo.sg, an online grocer offering an incredible variety of Japanese food supplies, is launching on Nov. 8.

Thanks to decade-long business relations with the suppliers, the online shopping portal is making it super easy to order fresh seafood, meats and vegetables, as well as condiments and snacks, direct from the Land of the Rising Sun.

That includes all the sashimi-grade items that go well on their own or in salads, plus seasoning like sushi shoyu, teriyaki sauce, yakiniku sauce and shiro miso, which is perfect for glazing seafood, meat and onigiri rice balls.

Catering to time-starved home cooks, Zairyō, which means “ingredients” in Japanese, also sells other elements in the much-loved cuisine, such as ramen and udon soup bases, calrose rice and pickled vegetables.

And — this is our favourite bit — there’ll also be meal kits, consisting of most of the kitchen essentials you’ll need to prepare themed spreads. There’s the Iyasare (comfort) Pack with soba or Inaniwa udon and the respective soup base, and there’s also the Bekingu (baking) Pack, with ingredients like Japanese fine white flour and sugar, matcha powder, Kinako powder and Azuki red beans. There’s even the Thank God it’s Furai-day! Pack, for the clueless party host.

For dessert: tea, and even mochi and ice-cream.

Want to make your Japanese meal at home even more authentic? Zairyō stocks an eclectic mix of Japanese inspired tableware.

No minimum order is required, but purchases must be made at least three working days in advance. Free delivery is available for purchases worth $100 and above. Otherwise, the service costs an additional $20, or you can pick up your groceries from their office at Enterprise One in Kaki Bukit.

To celebrate their launch,  Zairyō customers will enjoy a 10 percent discount and free delivery on all orders from Nov. 8 — 22.
