Chinese embassy warns citizens about electronic goods fraud in Singapore

A notice posted on the China Consular Affairs website yesterday reminds citizens to be careful when purchasing electronic goods in Singapore.

The Chinese embassy here revealed that it has picked up on an increasing number of tourists encountering fraud while purchasing things like mobile phones, and urges citizens to check for warning notices in shopping malls to avoid dealing with errant merchants.

The notice comes after a spate of disturbing reports about shops in Sim Lim Square, a tech gadget mall in Rochor.
