Singapore ‘troll site’ gets Paypal account suspended amid law-breaking speculation

SMRT Ltd (Feedback), the Facebook page known for publicly calling out and revealing the personal details of misbehaving characters like Anton Casey and more recently, Jover Chew, has had their Paypal account suspended.

In an online post, the anonymous group made up of “Ahmad”, “Lup Cheong”, “Muthu” and “Pereira”, said the suspension was due to “suspicious activity”, “usually associated with criminal gangs or terrorist activities”, but assured it would be sorted out. The account is possibly linked to their Youcaring campaign, which aims to raise $5,000 for their ‘online CSI’ activities.

The suspension announcement comes after reports of possible law-breaking on the side of SMRT Ltd (Feedback), who not only revealed Mobile Air founder Jover Chew’s email, phone number and residential address, but also ordered food deliveries using his identity.

Second Minister for Home Affairs Mr. S. Iswaran also implied that the site, understandably a local favourite, has “gone too far”, in a recent Facebook post. He revealed that police are not just investigating the Sim Lim Square cases related to Mobile Air, but also a related report on harassment.

It’s been speculated that the report was filed by Jover Chew’s wife Winnie, who also runs a shop at Sim Lim Square.
