Singapore woman spends over $1.7m and seven years to deck out Hello Kitty home

58-year-old Madam Connie Sim, inspired by a friend’s Hello Kitty Shrine, decided to make one herself seven years ago.

Fast forward the time and her house in Tanjong Katong is now home to hundreds of Hello Kitty collectibles, matched with custom Hello Kitty themed interior design masterminded by Terry Goh.

Features like the elaborate cornice work, signature baby pink kitchen surfaces and even a specially built bar have set Madam Sim back a cool $1.2m, while her collection of decoratives like figurines, stuffed toys and even toilet seat covers are estimated to be valued at about $500,000.
