Drone waiters to debut at Timbre by end of next year

Infinium Robotics Pte. Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Timbre group that should see drones sending you food and drinks in one of their restaurants by the end of next year.

TODAY reports that the Infinium-Serve — autonomous flying robot waiters — will be first launched at one of Timbre Group’s five outlets across Singapore. Infinitum Robotics CEO Woon Junyang estimated a “low seven-figure sum” for the project to be employed for all five outlets. Both Timbre and Infinitum Robotics are looking to productivity-related government grants to affray deployment costs.

Soon has asserted that the drones can help alleviate Singapore’s labour crunch, and improve standard of services when human waiter can focus instead on higher-value, personable tasks.

Robot waiters have been put into operation in restaurants all over the world (especially tech-crazy Japan) but this may be one of the first few attempts to have flying drones as F&B servers.
