Monocle Magazine launching Singapore outpost next week

The Monocle Shop and Café is set to open at 74 Jalan Kelabu Asap in residential neighbourhood Chip Bee Gardens on Dec. 20.

The store is a first Singapore outpost for the cult favourite lifestyle magazine brand, which already has branches in New York, London, Toronto, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

Occupying a two storey townhouse built in the 1950s, the cosy space comprises a retail shop offering the brand’s well known design collabs—think perfumes by Comme des Garcons ($140) and ceramic sets by Kihara ($110)—plus, a drink counter serving Allpress coffee (from $4), fresh orange juice ($5) and Antipodes water ($6).

Upstairs is the office where they’ll start the Singapore bureau and a radio station early next year.
