Tampines murder leaves co-tenants deeply shaken, no longer willing to live in flat

A horrific incident shook the residents of Tampines Central early yesterday morning where a woman was found dead in a flat and the bloodied murder suspect found in another block 30 metres away from the scene.

Details of how the murder unfolded have been revealed, according to various media reports.

The suspect and the victim — believed to be a couple from China — were having a heated argument in the three-bedroom flat at Block 503, Tampines Central 1, where they were living with seven other tenants.

Their quarrel died out after 10 minutes, and the man left the room, locking the door behind him. His flatmates reported seeing him leave the house with a knife wrapped in a piece of cloth.

A tenant decided to open the door to the couples room, and was greeted by a grisly murder scene. The woman was lying face down motionless on a mattress on the floor.

According to TODAY, all of the flat’s tenants have decided to move out of the unit as they were deeply shaken from the incident.

Investigations are still ongoing.
