TCM bakery Dough & Grains moves out of Tiong Bahru

Dough & Grains effectively moved out of its space at #01-35 Eng Hoon Street this week.

While we’re sad they’re no longer in our (fabulous) neighbourhood, this is good news for the concept store, which is expanding to two outlets in the new year: one in Basement One of Chinatown Point and another in Basement One of Centrepoint Shopping Centre along Orchard Road.

If you haven’t been, you have no excuse now. Dough & Grains is one of the only bakeries in Singapore that makes bread based on traditional Chinese medicine practices.

Their pastries, like this Eight Treasures bun, are packed with ingredients that reportedly promote physical and sometimes brain health. The Eight Treasures ($2.30), is a real tasty black sesame bread topped with macadamia, walnut, pine nut, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, white sesame, almonds and cranberry.

Another popular buy is the White Pearl ($1.90), which is made with raw sugar and includes raisins, walnuts and black sesame seeds.
