Singapore among New York Times’ top places to visit in 2015

“It’s a year-long birthday party, and the world is invited,” says The New York Times in an apt description about the SG50 celebrations this year. As such, our little Southeast Asian island has been deemed as one of the top travel destinations for 2015, coming in at 6th place in the world.

The American daily highlighted festivities including the Chingay Parade in February, the launch of National Gallery Singapore, public art trail Jubilee Walk and the probably the biggest and grandest National Day parade yet.

The top locale to visit according to The New York Times is none other than the city of Milan in Italy, described as “a revitalized city” and the country’s most vibrant, which will host this year’s World’s Fair in Expo 2015.

Other places such as Cuba (a warm Caribbean island within reach), Philadelphia (an urban outdoor oasis) and Yellowstone National Park (now with upgraded lodging facilities) also rank high at the top of the list above Singapore.

If The New York Times says so, then we’re really in luck for the jubilee celebrations this year.
