Vegan Vibes Festival postponed to next year

An outdoor, all-vegan festival that’s been getting us all excited has been postponed to 2016.

Posting on Facebook, the organisers said, “It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce that Vegan Vibes will be postponed to 2016. We thank everyone for your love, support and positive energy. It has fuelled us up to this point. Be assured that the show will go on! Vegans are known not to back down in a good fight.”

A few months ago, Coconuts Singapore spoke to co-founder Jennifer Banse, who told us she wanted to emulate some of the festivals she’s found while researching veganism online.

“We feel that the time is right as people are getting more aware of what they put in their bodies and the impact they make with their lifestyle choices,” Banse had said. “And this is exactly what the festival wants to celebrate — the positivity of a plant-based lifestyle.”

Well, the people (and their bodies) are ready. Unfortunately, the sponsors aren’t.

When asked why the event was being postponed in the comments section, the organisers said they’re unable to go ahead with the event as plans with one of the major sponsors have yet to materialise even with the dates drawing near.
