Woman stabbed repeatedly during robbery attempt at Clementi

A robbery went horribly wrong for a 32-year-old Jessie, who was stabbed repeatedly after refusing to surrender her handbag to the thief.

Lianhe Wanbao reports that Jessie had been walking down a pedestrian overhead bridge along Clementi Avenue 3 when the incident occurred. The robber tried to snatch her handbag, but the woman refused to let go and screamed for help.

The assailant then took out a knife and stabbed her thrice before running away with the handbag, leaving her bleeding with stab wounds to her waist, lungs and liver.

Passers-by came to her aid and she was then conveyed to the hospital. According to reports, she had to undergo a 10-hour surgery, and is now recuperating.
