River Hongbao returns in February with biggest local lantern display yet

Usher in the Chinese New Year by the river in the annual River Hongbao, held on the Floating Platform @ Marina Bay and organised by Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations.

This year’s celebrations will be featuring the largest local lantern display ever, Channel NewsAsia reports — including a 50-metre SG50 giant mural wall showcasing all the nation’s milestones, the iconic dragon playground and the Chinese zodiac.

Other than the lantern extravaganza, audiences can also catch a spectacular fireworks display, performances by the Xinjian Normal University troupe  and the NTUS Culture Arts Performing Team, while the hungry can visit the Food Street display, starring a dazzling array of local delicacies.

River Hongbao will take place from Feb 17 to 28; admission is free. More details on their official website.
