Netizens come up with on point puns following absurd ST letter about sewing on trains

Ah Tan Lay Hoon, bless your heart. Extremely distressed by the fact that a fellow commuter had the gall to do some sewing while on the train, the woman went ahead and wrote an anxious letter to The Straits Times forum

Apparently, Tan’s intrusive thoughts kicked in during the whole episode, citing worries about the cross-stitch embroidery work could put an eye out on the moving MRT train. Oh, and this is during the off-peak hours by the way.

“There will be very serious consequences if the needle impales an eye or other body part of a nearby commuter who could not move away in time. How can the injured commuter seek recourse?” wrote the agonizingly concerned Tan.

“If the SMRT’s regulations do not permit sewing inside MRT trains in operation, what is the appropriate action that a concerned fellow commuter can take in such a situation?”

Netizens however could not let the chance of a pun-filled thread go to past. Together, they weaved a yarn so amusing that you actually forget that Singaporeans can be so stiff sometimes.
