Man falls from electric scooter, dies from head injuries

In a tragic turn of events, a 23-year-old passed away from serious head injuries after taking a nasty fall from his electric scooter. Described by his family as an expert on all things related to e-scooters, Sam Koh worked at PassionGadgets for the past two years, selling unicycles, kick scooters and hoverboards.

The accident occurred when he was out riding with two friends on the route from East Coast Park to Marina Bay Sands, according to The New Paper. His younger brother, Benson, added that Sam was an experienced rider, and unfortunately wore a cap instead of a helmet at the time of the fall. After landing on his back, Sam lost consciousness and went into a coma.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force received a call around 1.10am last Saturday and arrived at East Coast Park Service Road to take him to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Unfortunately, he never awoke from his coma and passed away on Sunday.

Remembered by friends as a passionate and helpful person, many from the 7,000-strong e-scooter community came forward to share their memories of Sam.
