Alt rock band Nothing But Thieves to perform at Hard Rock Cafe Singapore in August

Formed in 2012, this English alt rock quintet debuted their first eponymous album last year in the UK, followed by their sold-out ‘Ban All the Music’ tour. A second Brit tour was announced for this year, but some dates had to be postponed after the guys were asked to support rock legends Muse on the UK leg of their ‘Drones’ tour. Pretty cool stuff, for a band that’s only released one full-length record so far.

Nothing But Thieves will be performing here as part of the Rising Star Series — a new initiative that aims to feature emerging artists in Singapore for the first time — with tunes like ‘Trip Switch’, ‘Honey Whiskey’ and ‘Excuse Me’. Watch out for a yet-to-be announced local up-and-coming musician as the opening act.

Nothing But Thieves are in Singapore on Aug 18, 8pm at Hard Rock Cafe Singapore at Cuscaden Rd. $88-$98.

UPDATE: Nothing But Thieves’ debut Singapore show has been cancelled. All existing ticket holders will receive a full refund. Here’s a statement from the band:

“Conor is still recovering from the laryngitis/flu that meant we had to cancel our last few shows in the US of A. The doctor has recommended that we cancel our Asia headline dates (HK, Singapore and Taipei). This means Conor can rest between festivals and hopefully make a full recovery. Really bad timing but we’re doing our best to minimize cancelling shows and get Conor back to good health. Without him we sort of turn into a budget karaoke band. We hope you understand, we’ll make it up to you soon.”
