New show by Annie Leibovitz to be displayed at Tanjong Pagar Railway Station

Remember when Annie Leibovitz’s A Photographer’s Life came to town and people flocked to the ArtScience Museum? Well, we’re in for another Leibovitz treat, as her new show, Women: New Portraits, opens in Singapore next week.

Part of a ten-city world tour with commissioning partner UBS, the exhibition will be staged at a space that holds a special place in our hearts: Tanjong Pagar Railway Station. And even better, it’s completely free to the public.

Leibovitz’s original Women series came out in 1999, in collaboration with her partner, Susan Sontag. Since then, contemporary influential personalities have been added, including Facebook CEO Sheryl Sandberg and feminist activist Gloria Steinem. It seems only a select few from the entire collection will make it here, but we’re psyched nonetheless.

Get a glimpse of behind-the-scenes footage of the series below.

Women: New Portraits is from Apr 29-May 22 at Tanjong Pagar Railway Station. Free.
