Popular Japanese cafe Kyushu Pancake to set up shop in Singapore

Good news, pancake fans. After opening outlets in Japan and Taiwan, popular Japanese cafe Kyushu Pancake is headed our way very soon. Opening on May 11, the 42-seater space is decked out industrial-style and boasts the brand’s signature pancakes made from seven different kinds of Kyushu-grown grains. Its flour mix is free from emulsifiers and artificial additives, and made up of quality ingredients like brown rice, pressed barley, purple rice and red glutinous rice from all over Japan — basically, it’s a healthier option for those who wanna watch their diets.

Recommended dishes include the butter milk classic served with homemade white wine honey and fruit syrup, salted caramel French toast with vanilla ice cream, matcha azuki waffle topped with red bean and ice cream, and eggs benedict pancake, complete with tomatoes, asparagus, bacon and hollandaise sauce.

Matcha lovers can go for the montblanc with matcha mousse, fresh cream and vanilla ice cream, or the tiramisu that comes covered in matcha powder and sauce. On the drinks side, expect offerings like matcha lattes, fruit teas and milk teas.

Kyushu Pancake opens on May 11 at #01-08 Novena Regency, 275 Thomson Rd, 6352-6265.
