47 passengers on AirAsia flight from Singapore to Bali dropped off at wrong terminal

On May 10, passengers on Lion Air flight JT161 from Singapore to Jakarta departed the Soekarno-Hatta airport at the domestic terminal, skipping immigration checks. That was due to a mistake by the ground crew.

Less than a week later, on May 16, a similar thing happened. Forty-seven out of the 155 passengers on AirAsia flight QZ509 from Singapore to Bali were transported to the domestic terminal, as a result of a miscommunication between the airport flight controller and a bus driver.

But after the mistake was caught, airport security and AirAsia ground handlers quickly got passengers to re-board the bus that would take them to the international arrival terminal. Next time you fly budget, keep a lookout where you’re being led to.

AirAsia Indonesia and airport authorities are investigating the incident.
