Dude who let computer randomly pick his Toto numbers walked away with over $8m

For waging a single dollar, one extremely lucky man walked away with $8,045,163 in a recent TOTO draw — the second biggest ever sum won by a single individual.

The thing is, he didn’t even consult the stars or employed a variety of ancient magicks to ensure his very colossal turn of fortune. Lianhe Wanbao reports that he hadn’t bother with all that because he simply let the computer pick the random sequence of six numbers. His ticket was bought with the minimum bet amount of $1 from Kim Chwee Trading in Jurong East, featuring the prize-winning numbers of 1, 10, 24, 26, 36, and 47, as well as the additional number of 4.

Meanwhile, eight people who won the consolation category had to split the loot of $91, 209 among themselves.

This year seems to be a pretty lucky season to be hitting the lottery. In February, one man managed to score $9.5 million with a ticket bought in Hougang — the largest amount taken home by a single person. Better luck next time in the Toto draw tomorrow, where the jackpot is expected to be around $1 million.
