Surreal black humour cartoonist Joan Cornellà to make debut exhibition here in June

Of recent years, the internet fell in love with the dark and disturbing works of Spanish cartoonist Joan Cornellà, whose illustrations can be simultaneously colourful, hilarious and twisted at the same time.

Or, we’re just horrible people for liking comics that features a mother being proud of saving the life of a baby by pushing her own child to her own demise.

Or even the one where a woman is happy with drinking diarrhoea, because it’s eco-friendly.

If you love Cornella’s work, good job for having our same fucked-up sense of humour. Good news too — Cornella’s making his debut solo exhibition in Singapore thanks to Symmetry Entertainment and The Artbishop.

From Jun 24 to Jul 3, be horrified at your own capacity for surrealist black humour at Far Out! along Tanjong Katong Road, and even get a chance to meet the man himself on opening night. You gotta book your tickets first though if you want to meet him — more details on the upcoming exhibition on the Facebook event page. If you want more of Cornella’s work, check out his Facebook page
