2 voyagers launch crowdfunding campaign to ride from Singapore to Milan on Tuk-Tuk food truck

Eight months ago, a cook and a filmmaker embarked on a journey across the globe from Milan to Singapore armed with pots, pans, knives and cameras.

Hitting places such as Calcata, Istanbul, Moscow, China and more, they came across hundreds of people, collecting stories in exchange for food — while also compiling recipes to come up with The Pilgrim Cookbook, a cookbook that charts their journey.

Eight months later, and they’ve arrived in Singapore with mountains of video footage and experience. 25-year-old filmmaker Cameron Starr and 26-year-old cook Guglielmo Sartor are not done just yet though. They’re planning to make it back to Milan in another piquant fashion — riding all the way on a Tuk Tuk that’s also a food truck, a production studio and a home too for the next couple of months.

The trip back won’t be cheap though — both Starr and Sartor are in need of funds to actually buy and modify the Tuk Tuk, as well as cover their expenses on fuel, Visas, insurance and video equipment. All of which will culminate in a documentary that follows them as they cross the biggest continent on earth in the smallest food truck. As such, they’ve launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, with USD10,000 as the end goal. It’s a crazy project indeed, but not impossible at all, considering they’ve made it all the way here by themselves. More details on their globetrotting endeavour on their Facebook and YouTube page
