Japanese food and sake fair at Emporium Shokuhin offers specialty products from Ehime

Emporium Shokuhin, the Japanese shopping and dining space at Marina Square, wants to introduce to you specialty items from the Ehime prefecture in Japan. Fresh produce, food and sauces like miso dips, vinegars and ponzu dressings will be available, as well as sake, being that Ehime is the second largest producer of rice wine in Japan.

Try bites like aji fry, deep-fried breaded Japanese mackerel, and marutotto, a traditional-style dried fish with soft, edible bones. Or head next door to Takujo Japanese Dining for a seven-course meal ($98++) with dishes such as fish cake cutlet, sashimi, crispy marbled rockfish, and brown rice tea ice cream. Four Ehime sakes are on hand to pair with the menu items, and each glass is an additional $38++.

At Umi+Vino Seafood Wine Bar, three labels picked by an Ehime sake sommelier are on offer as a sampler set of three ($16++) — Tokubetsu Honjozo, Hatsuyukihai Junmai Daiginjyo and Yukisuzume Junmai Daiginjyo.
