Car collision in Laharum, Victoria leaves 3 Singaporeans critically injured

Nearly 300km away from Melbourne, close to Grampians National Park in Victoria, five Singaporeans were involved in a serious car accident on Tuesday.

Channel NewsAsia reports that the collision between two cars occured in Laharum, in which the five Singaporeans were travelling together in one car. The  24-year-old male driver and a 23-year-old female passenger who were seated at the front of the vehicle managed to escape with minor injuries. The three other female passengers (all aged 23) seated at the back however were not as lucky — two of them have been taken to hospital in critical condition. The two were flown by air ambulance to Melbourne.

One of the women had head, chest and spinal injuries, and had to be given a blood transfusion en route to the hospital, according to The Wimmera Mail-Times

The cause of the crash is unknown, but the driver of the second vehicle involved in the crash was reportedly uninjured.
