There’s a fake grassroots leader going around Tampines demanding to enter residents’ homes

According to several residents of Tampines, some aggro dude has been going around the neighbourhood claiming to be a grassroots leader, demanding to enter homes for an “inspection”.

The suspicious dude apparently told homeowners that he was sent by Baey Yam Keng — Tampines GRC’s Member of Parliament — and would ask them if he could go into their houses.

In one such case, he would tell them he needed to “check her water pipelines”, The New Paper reports. When asked for identification or an authorisation latter, he would say that it was sent in the mail. He would also ask strange questions, and when denied entry, he would behave aggressively before eventually leaving.

Baey of course is aware of the man, and has appropriately notified the police, who are reviewing CCTV footage to identify him.
