Neon Lights announce a crazy eclectic music line-up for their festival this year

Okay, at least we got SOME things right. After teasing us rather cleverly with a poster filled with symbolic clues as to who’s coming for Neon Lights’ sophomore outing, the organisers finally confirmed the acts playing at Fort Canning Park this November.

Effectively becoming the second major indie music festival to look forward to every year, Neon Lights’ line-up looks assuredly eclectic. Highlights in the two-day event include the likes of indie-electro duo Crystal Castles, New York hip hop pioneers The Sugarhill Gang, English folk darling Lucy Rose, jazz fusion maestros Badbadnotgood and even the granddaddy of funk, George Clinton himself, who’ll be bringing a 25-piece ensemble to perform the best of Parliament Funkadelic.

It ain’t right if there aren’t any local acts to #represent, and Neon Lights has that covered. Indie rock bros Cashew Chemists, synthpop favourites Disco Hue, electronica upstart Linying and pop wonderkid Gentle Bones will be sharing the stage alongside the international names.

“We feel we are upping the ante with the range and quality of music acts in this year’s festival, with a strong mix of international acts alongside the best new stars from the Singaporean indie scene,” commented festival director Declan Forde. The list they’ve announced is not absolute though — a couple more will be revealed in September, so cross your fingers for LCD Soundsystem to play here too.

Tickets start at $120 for a single day pass, while limited early bird tickets are still up for purchase. More details on the Neon Lights website.
