8 reasons why the The Podium Lounge is the ONLY place to party over the Singapore Grand Prix

OMG, you guys! The Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix is right around the burnt rubber-coated corner, which means extra motor sports in our eyes and ears, extra exhaust in our lungs, and extra epic parties in our lives. Wahoo! For the eighth year in a row, the Grand Ballroom of the Ritz-Carlton Millennia Singapore will be transformed into a dizzying delight of glamour and glitz for the premier after-party of the Grand Prix Season, The Podium Lounge. Up to 3,000 guests will attend each of the three after party nights from Sept. 16-18, and here are eight reasons why you should too.

There’s a ridiculous amount of celeb spotting to be done

Recognized as the most glamorous party of the Singapore Grand Prix, The Podium Lounge is always packed to bursting with A-List celebrities. This year, guests will be hosted by E! News presenter Yvette King, who’s charged with entertaining the glitterati, keeping everything running smoothly and making sure the room doesn’t explode under the pressure of multiple massive egos. To give you a taste of the sort of egos we’re talking about, previous events have welcomed the likes of Kim Kardashian, Gordon Ramsey, Princess Charlene of Monaco and of course several F1 drivers, legends and Miss Universes.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor finally found love

The Opening Party on Friday, Sept. 16, will showcase Brit pop sensation Sophie Ellis-Bextor – famed for her chart-topping singles ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’, ‘Groovjet (If This Ain’t Love)’ and ‘Take Me Home’ – accompanied on the decks by her husband Richard Jones, bass player of British rock band The Feeling. If you don’t know, together they are Me & Mrs Jones. Cute, right?

The founder of HED KANDI will blow your mind!

Saturday Sept. 17 will see Mark Doyle, the founder of UK record label HED KANDI, return by popular demand with his Fierce Angel Collective. This rousing performance will be studded with Cuban percussionist Pablo Calzado on the drums and London’s most sought-after celebrity saxophonist Emma Frampton on… you guessed it … the saxophone! “Fierce Diva” Soraya Vivian will also be rocking the mic.

Did someone say “Estelle”?!!

Yes they did! Race Night on Sunday Sept. 18 will welcome Grammy Award winning artist Estelle to the Podium Lounge, turbo-boosting the high-octane celebrations. The British hip-hop/soul sensation has collaborated with the likes of David Guetta, will.i.am, John Legend and Rick Ross. And we know we don’t need to mention her #1 mega hit “American Boy” with Kanye West.

There will be supermodels on the ceiling

No really, we’re not kidding. A catwalk in the sky, built in collaboration with Grey Goose, will feature a nightly Fashion Circuit by ZENCHI, with international models strutting their stuff above Singapore’s longest pop-up island bar. Let’s hope they’re wearing sensible knickers! ZENCHI, for those who don’t know, has dressed the likes of Naomi Campbell, Fann Wong and Singapore entertainment and style icons Kit Chan and Zoe Tay.

There will be awesome art

The Podium Lounge will be adorned with an exhibition of famed paintings and sculptures by acclaimed artist Kumari Nahappan, known for her iconic sculptures in landmark locations across Singapore, including Saga for Changi Airport, Nutmeg & Mace and the OUE Bayfront, the latter of which is the largest bronze mural in Singapore at over 45m. Nahappan will be joined by speed painter Armin Flossdorf of F1 Arts who will be demonstrating live his eye-popping technique and motor sports art throughout the weekend.

You can totally give back

If you start to feel guilty about all the excess you’ve been soaking in, The Podium Lounge Charity Auction will provide you with a chance to give back while still gaining something totally enviable. The live auction will be putting exceptionally rare F1 memorabilia under the hammer, including a replica helmet signed by three-time Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton, a Michael Schumacher signed F1® racing glove, and a full- size Red Bull Racing Suit signed by Sebastian Vettel, multiple time Formula 1 World Champion. No, we don’t know when you’d wear it either.

Super weird stuff will be going on EVERYWHERE

As well as causing a Champagne-popping ruckus, the MUMM Party Squad will be recreating the experience of the “Tron Legacy” film every night, complete with a laser-shooting Tron man, a CO2 firing astronaut, and dudes on stilts. They’ll also be plenty of lovely ladies hanging from hoops and the like as part of the roving entertainment.

If all this sounds like your idea of heaven, tickets are exclusively available via www.podiumlounge.com/sg, starting at SGD188 for Early Bird General Admission. Tickets and VIP Tables always sell out ahead of the event, so round up your party crew and books yours now!
