Grow greens for charity with sprouting kits full of Toast Box’s recycled coffee grounds

Grab a sprouting kit and grow greens for charity in support of non-profit organisation ABLE (Abilities Beyond Limitations and Expectations). These portable cups are filled with bak choy, kai lan or chilli seeds that you can spread out on a bed of soil compost processed from Toast Box’s recycled coffee grounds — and everything’s packed by staff, volunteers and beneficiaries from Toast Box and ABLE.

Kai lan seems to be the winner in this race for sprouts

Even if your track record of keeping things alive isn’t the greatest, these kits come with easy instructions to follow, and you should be able reap the small harvest after 10 to 12 days (except for chilli — that takes longer to grow).

All proceeds from sales of the sprouting kits will be donated to ABLE in support of its rehabilitation, respite and training programmes.

Sprouting kits are available from Sept 22 at 35 Toast Box outlets, including Bugis Junction, Marina Bay Sands, Paragon and Resorts World Sentosa. $5 each; 100 percent of all proceeds from sales go to ABLE.
