Pet cat in Marsiling allegedly poisoned; owner gets blamed for letting it roam outside

Cat killers have struck again — and this time in a HDB estate in Marsiling, where a beloved pet is believed to have been poisoned by an inhumane brute.

Muhd Nur Hakim woke up to the terrible sight of seeing his beloved cat dead at his doorstep in Block 217 along Marsiling Crescent. From pictures posted on his Facebook page, his cat died a painful death — spurts of blood were seen on footwear and the corridor.

According to media reports, Hakim has since filed a report to the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) after suspecting that his cat was poisoned, due to the foam coming out of its mouth when he found it.

Instead of decrying the sickness of animal cruelty, some netizens placed the blame on Hakim for letting his cat roam freely outside the house. So in addition to the grief of having a dead pet, Hakim has to bear the brunt of internet criticism. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
