WATCH: Jetstar’s social experiment asks Chinese families if they would give up free flights over Lunar New Year

This Lunar New Year, Jetstar wants you to stay in town for family reunion dinners and visitations (that is, if you celebrate the festive occasion). The airline’s reasoning? Because you can travel any time, so why not stay home over the long weekend to spend time with family?

In light of this, Jetstar conducted a social experiment with a couple of Chinese families. Separated by generations, they were all posed the same question: If you were given a pair of free flight tickets to travel over the Lunar New Year period, would you take it?

Watch their responses below.

If you were planning to vacay over the festive period but you’ve now changed your mind, Jetstar will waive all change fees and fare differences for you to stay in Singapore — provided you booked your flight on or before Jan 9, and you’re due to depart on Jan 27 or 28. All requests must be submitted by Jan 22.
