By now, surely we all know that Yishun is virtually the most happening district in Singapore. It’s notoriously a regular name in headlines for all the wrong reasons, and the amount of wacky misdeeds and criminality that occur in the northern neck of the woods is unparalleled.
From big sinkholes to cat killers; cocaine smugglers to stun gun users; creepy child stealers to calm car-jackers; it’s no wonder Yishun is known as the Murderer and Siao Lang town.
Just like the parody Twitter account for the National Arts Council’s $880,000 bin centre, someone had to set up a gimmick page dedicated to all things Yishun. @YishunMan is young, but it’s already a promising start to collating all the hottest Yishun happenings. And providing a voice to the notorious neighbourhood.
Of course, all the tweets above are just unverified anecdotes, but if you’re a longtime Yishun resident yourself, these outlandish occurences may not be that impossible to imagine.
