Veteran SIA stewardess found dead in San Francisco hotel room hours before return flight

Singapore Airlines (SIA) leading stewardess (they’re the ones in the green kebaya) Vanessa Yeap was supposed to fly back to Singapore on Wednesday morning from San Francisco — but she was found dead in a hotel room several hours before departure.

Believed to be in her late 30s or early 40s, the Penang-born air stewardess was discovered in her room by her colleagues at a San Francisco hotel, according to an anonymous cabin crew member who leaked the information to The Straits Times

She was a leading stewardess on a flight from Singapore to San Francisco, and the return flight was scheduled for about 1am on Wednesday, Feb 1. Yeap did not appear at the lobby when the crew was supposed to check out from the hotel on Tuesday night.

Colleagues went to check up on Yeap in her room, where they found her dead. Resuscitation attempts were not able to revive the stewardess, who had been with SIA for about 15 to 20 years.

According to the anonymous source, Yeap had also stated that she wasn’t feeling well when cabin crew arrived in San Francisco.

Yeap’s brother is en route to San Francisco to claim the body.
