RT-PCR testing on arrival will be a thing of the past in just nine days, the COVID task force announced today.
A task force spokesperson announced that RT-PCR tests will be scrapped, with only an ATK required for international travelers arriving in Thailand as of May 1.
The health insurance requirements for travelers will also be reduced from US$20,000 to US$10,000.
The waived testing requirements only apply to travelers 18 and up who have been fully vaccinated with an approved vaccine two weeks prior to travel. Those who are not fully vaccinated must still take RT-PCR tests on their fourth and fifth days upon their arrivals.
Children 12 to 17 traveling unaccompanied must have been vaccinated with at least 1 dose of an approved vaccine two weeks before traveling; those traveling with their parents, or under 12, are exempt.
