Singapore blogger Wendy Cheng, better known as Xiaxue, is in yet another scandal.
Shortly after her online spat with Eunice Annabel became a sensation, local body beauty brand Slim Couture is planning to sue Nuffnang, the blog network that handles the 30-year-old’s endorsements.
According to this blog post, Xiaxue had been asked to try the company’s gua sha treatment, a detoxifying, slimming process that involves cupping of the skin. When her experience turned out ‘negative’, she rejected Slim Couture’s offer of an endorsement through Nuffnang.
The real trouble began when on Jul. 26, Xiaxue uploaded her negative review on the website. She says a Slim Couture representative then sent her Nuffnang manager several Whatsapp messages, saying the company will be taking legal action against the network.
The original review was deleted, but later repurposed for Xiaxue’s account of the entire incident.
According to marketing news site Mumbrella, neither Nuffnang nor Xiaxue have received official legal letters.
