Facebook cofounder Eduardo Saverin is set to marry Miss Singapore Universe 2009 Rachel Kum at the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat Four Seasons on June 27, Page Six reported on Tuesday. He had also reportedly invested in Miss Kum’s cosmetics company, Rachel K Cosmetics.

Turns out that his new bride-to-be is in fact Elaine Andriejanssen, a 31-year-old Indonesian Chinese based in Singapore. Despite the clarification from Page Six and Saverin’s close sources, numerous news media sites like the Daily Mail continue to pick up the same story of Saverin getting married to Rachel Kum. Embarrassing, much.
It’s unclear how this confusion surfaced: Mr Saverin’s relationship status on his legitimately verified Facebook profile clearly indicates that he has been engaged to Ms. Andriejanssen since March 27, 2014. His representative was also quoted as saying that not only are Saverin and Kum not getting married, but the two have never even dated and neither did he even invest in her company. So much for breaking news.
