It’s been an oddly crime-filled period of time for safe and sterile Singapore. A successful bank heist (don’t worry, the robber’s nabbed already), a bloody murder in Geylang, and another shadowy death in the corridor of an HDB block in Yishun.
Another day, another death, it seems — the police are now investigating the murder of a 42-year-old man whose body was found outside a pub along Jalan Besar last night.
They were alerted at about 11.20pm to the scene, where they found the man lying motionless outside Trey Hostel bar, according to various media reports. He was pronounced dead by paramedics 10 minutes later. A witness who spoke to The New Paper mentioned that it was a fatal stabbing, an argument outside a KTV lounge that escalated into a knife-fight. It is believed that the altercation was about an unpaid debt.
With the case officially classified as murder, the police are now on high alert for the suspect, who’s said to be on the run. That means there are two alleged murderers on the loose right now — the police have yet to announce the arrest of the individual behind the killing in Geylang.
