The Singapore Indoor Stadium suffered a roof leak after an afternoon downpour on Wednesday causing the $1.33 billion hub to be littered with water puddles.

At that time, the first women’s doubles quarter-final WTA match between Russians Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina, and Russian-Australian players Alla Kudryavtseva and Anastasia Rodionova, was playing.

According to Channel NewsAsia, the match wasn’t disrupted. However, towels were placed around the court and a ball kid had to mop up during the match.

This is the second time the Indoor Stadium, a part of the 35-hectare Sports Hub, has come under fire the past few weeks.

On Tuesday, top players Caroling Wozniacki and Maria Sharapova complained that certain lights were switching on and off during the match at the indoor sports arena

The National Stadium, just a stone’s throw away from the Indoor Stadium, faced criticism about its balding pitch last week. SHPL authorities were forced to rectify the problem before the Suzuki Cup commences on Nov. 1, causing a rugby friendly and Jay Chou concert to be cancelled and postponed respectively.
